It’s A New Ballgame

Monday, March 24th, 2008

Well, little Meredith had her very first taste of big people food tonight (even though I wouldn’t touch it with a 10-foot pole.) She chowed it down AND most of her normal amount of formula. I think she inherited her dad’s hollow leg. (And her mom’s grace in getting food into her mouth — Dad hosed her off in the sink afterward. No, really.)

This Is Me Catching Up

Saturday, March 22nd, 2008

So I’ve been remiss and leaving our web audience (both of them!) hanging after the great Spring Tour of Aught Eight. We got home after only a few minor travails on Saturday. The Jetta’s driver’s window decided to not be hampered by its mounting clips and fall into the door. :P Did I mention this was in Chicago? 3 hours from home? Menards to the rescue with plastic wrap and duct tape…

So we got home and hashed out the issue of me taking the Zillow job I was offered — do we? Don’t we? OMG MOVE TO SEATTLE. Ultimately we decided that this was too great an opportunity to pass up. So here we go — to Seattle.

I’m packing RIGHT NOW.

In the meantime, I am sorting through the 1000 (literally) pictures I took while on vacation. Keep your eye on Flickr for the good ones.

Meredith continues to sit like a rockstar, which she finally figured out at Grandma and Grandpa C.’s house. She’s still wobbly, but she’ll sit for 5 minutes (or longer!) before she gets bored and flops back down. She’s turning more into a real person every day!

Hee!

We are having an embarrassingly good time making Meredith laugh, which she is just starting to do consistently. Kevin’s favorite method is swinging her upside-down by her legs. Mine is lifting her up sideways to my face and chewing on her stomach. SO fun. And the laughter is so contagious!

RIP Iphy

Iphy and Devi

Some sad news from our good friend Bridget: her basset hound Iphy had to be put down, possibly due to severe pancreatitis. Iphy was a sweet loving girl who was Devi’s best doggie buddy. She bayed like an airhorn when she got excited and tried to tip over the garbage every time she was at our place without close supervision — a real character. She will be missed.

Bridget has had a rough couple of weeks, with an emergency biopsy/surgery (all clear, thank goodness) and now this. She’s definitely in our thoughts.
